Dr. Douglas Wisch earned his medical degree at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark, where he also completed an internship in general surgery and his residency in orthopedic surgery, serving as chief resident and clinical assistant instructor. He completed a hand/microsurgery fellowship at the State University of New York at Stony Brook.

He has given lectures and has authored professional articles on topics related to hand surgery. He is an attending physician at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington, Connecticut, where he has served as chief of orthopedic service.

Dr. Wisch is the most experienced hand surgeon in the region. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, with subspecialty certification in surgery of the hand. Additionally, he has been nationally recognized, and in recognition of his outstanding care, Dr. Wisch has been peer-nominated and named a Top Doctor for several consecutive years in the national publication Castle Connolly.

In his practice, Dr. Wisch offers specialized hand and upper extremity therapy and advanced procedures, including microsurgery and injections.
