Litchfield Hills Orthopedic Associates will host a free pre-race running clinic on Wednesday, May 9, at 6:30 p.m. at their Torrington Office, located at 245 Alvord Park Road. The clinic will offer training tips and strategies to prevent common injuries for race participants of the 42nd Annual Litchfield Hills Road Race. Racers can register for this clinic by calling Litchfield Hills Orthopedic Associates at (860) 482-8539, ext. 216.

Dr. Jennifer D’Amico, podiatrist; Dr. Leigh Brezenoff, orthopedic surgeon; Lee Falk, P.T.A.; and the rehabilitation staff of Litchfield Hills Orthopedic Associates will speak about running health and injury prevention topics and answer questions. Light refreshments will be served, and manual demonstrations will take place.

Topics discussed at the free pre-race running clinic will include:

  • Identifying injuries in the lower body
  • Preventing running-related injuries
  • Cross-training
  • Proper footwear
  • Stretching and foam rolling
  • Exercise instruction
