Frank J. Pompo, M.D., board-certified orthopedic surgeon at Litchfield Hills Orthopedic Associates, is offering robotic-assisted knee replacement using the state-of-the-art CORI Surgical System. Procedures using the CORI robotic system are being performed at the practice’s Torrington office on-site surgery center, Litchfield Hills Surgery Center, at 245 Alvord Park Road. Offered locally by Dr. Pompo, CORI robotic-assisted surgical technology is designed to provide patients with an enhanced joint replacement experience and outcome. Using advanced instrumentation, computer assistance and robotic-assisted hardware, the CORI system helps surgeons accurately and precisely place and align an implant during knee replacement surgery based on a customized surgical plan using a 3D model of the patient’s knee.

Dr. Pompo graduated with his medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia. He completed his preliminary year of postdoctoral training at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville before finishing his training with an orthopedic surgery residency at The University of Toledo Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio. Dr. Pompo is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He offers nonsurgical joint care as well as fracture care, hip and knee replacement and knee arthroscopy.
